VANYX Core, a Marvel of Space in Six Meters

Living comfort, off-road capability, and autonomy don't have to be a trade-off.

VANYX Core, a Marvel of Space in Six Meters

At under six meters in length, VANYX Core is short enough for narrow mountain passes, city centers, and everyday parking. Inside, it still doesn't feel like a compact camper. Cozy is what most customers call it at first glance, usually surprised by how much fits into a van this size.

How a Cozy Interior Comes Together

The interior is built around warm Queenply wood and beige fabrics, with matte-black accents. For many people, the combination reads more like a café or a ski cabin than a vehicle interior. The wood feels natural and grounding, and rounded edges on furniture and woodwork take the hardness out of the space.

The entire interior is also lined with felt. That makes it quieter to the ear and softer to the touch. Doors sound different, footsteps are muffled, fabric brushes against felt instead of sheet metal.

Despite the classic layout with the bed in the rear and the bathroom in the middle, the interior feels larger than the exterior dimensions suggest, thanks to continuous sightlines, soft materials, and well-proportioned furniture.

Standing Height, Power Outlets, Walkways

Everywhere you tend to spend time, meaning the kitchen, bed, work area, and cab, power outlets along with USB and USB-C ports are built in directly. So the camera charges while you cook, the laptop over breakfast, and the phone as you fall asleep, all without running extension cords through the whole van.

Standing height reaches up to 1.80 meters. At the narrowest point, 49 centimeters of width remain for moving around.

Off-Road: MAN Base with Lift Kit and Assistance

The base is a MAN TGE 4×4 with selectable all-wheel drive, a differential lock, and an 8-speed automatic transmission. On top of that comes a lift kit with up to 40 centimeters of ground clearance. On gravel, snow, or rutted tracks, the drivetrain keeps working reliably even when the route gets demanding.

The MAN cockpit also brings the full assistance layer: adaptive cruise control (ACC), traffic sign recognition, high-beam, lane-change, lane-keeping, crosswind, and park assist. These systems keep your head clear on long stages and in unfamiliar city centers.

Just as important as the drivetrain and ground clearance is weight distribution. The interior is laid out so that living comfort and driving behavior work together. Our article Why Weight in Terrain is Decisive covers why this makes the difference off-road.

Autonomy: Lithium, Solar, Water

Two solar panels with 160 watts peak each work on the roof. Inside, a 460 Ah 12-volt LiFePO4 battery stores the energy. That keeps lighting, the refrigerator, the induction cooktop, and work devices running for several days without shore power.

For cold days, a diesel heater pairs with the full insulation. The water supply is sized for longer trips: 100 liters of fresh water, 90 liters of waste water, plus a UV filter and water filter built directly into the kitchen line.

The Bed in the Rear

Sleeping surface is 1.95 × 1.30 m as standard, extendable to 2 meters on request. Beneath it sit a slatted base and a high-quality mattress, built for longer journeys.

The storage around it is placed where you can reach it from the bed:

  • two lockable compartments (53.5 × 45 × 31.8 cm)
  • two open compartments whose opening is deliberately smaller than the compartment behind it, so nothing falls out on the trail
  • reading lights, power outlets, and USB-C ports right at the bed

With the rear doors open, the sleeping area extends to the outside. On elevated pitches, by the water, or in the snow, you have the view right from your pillow.

The Kitchen on the Road

The sink measures 29 × 36 × 15 cm, large enough for bigger pots and pans as well. There is storage for cutlery, dishes, bowls, groceries, and dedicated space for spices and cooking utensils.

Cooking happens on an induction cooktop with two zones. The refrigerator is a 65-liter drawer model with an integrated freezer compartment.

The drawers have a damped soft-close function that latches them shut on its own. That keeps the contents in the cabinet even through curves, on gravel, and during braking.

The Bathroom in a Tight Space

The shower cabin is just under 60 × 90 cm and also holds a hand basin plus storage for towels, toiletries, and toilet paper.

On request, the bathroom can be fitted with a Clesana toilet. The waterless welding system works entirely without chemicals and without a cassette, which is especially practical on long trips far from disposal stations.

At the Table: Working, Eating, Cab

Both driver seats swivel, so a four-person setup forms at the rotating table for eating, working, or a round of cards. The leather seating surface measures 70 × 53 cm and stays comfortable even after several hours.

For the windshield on the inside, we offer self-made privacy curtains that reliably block views at night on pitches and at the same time act as an additional layer of insulation against the cold glass.

Storage Inside and on the Roof

The rear storage under the bed is roughly 90 cm wide, about 1.30 m deep, and a good 80 cm high. That is enough for snowboards, a climbing pack, or a folding bike in the standard configuration. With the bed folded up, additional storage opens up above.

What doesn't fit in the rear goes on the roof. The roof rack by VANYX is integrated from the factory, with longitudinal grooves and an airline hole pattern for flexible mounting of solar, a roof tent, sports gear, or a roof terrace.

What Does That Mean in Practice?

One detail we don't highlight in the specs: on clear nights, the mattress can be lifted onto the roof terrace. We don't recommend it for sleeping, since you move too much and would get too close to the edges. As a viewing spot for an hour of stargazing, though, it works well.

That, and everything in between, is what our Core is built for. Compact on the road, set up for longer stays, sufficiently insulated for winter, and with all-wheel drive plus lift kit ready to go where the asphalt ends.
